In-Person Outdoor Visits Starting August 17th
The number one goal of The Neighbors of Dunn County is to protect and promote the overall safety and wellbeing of all of the residents who reside here. As many of you may know, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (OHS) has issued guidance for skilled nursing facilities to facilitate outdoor visitation. The Neighbors team has been working to facilitate these visits in the safest, most equitable, and most consistent way possible. We thank each and every one of you for your patience as we know you have been eagerly awaiting the day you can meet with your loved ones again in person.
The excellent news is; you will not need to wait much longer. We are excited to share with you that in-person outdoor visits will be available at The Neighbors of Dunn County starting on Monday, August 17th. The Neighbors has hired additional staff to facilitate these visits and to ensure we are able to offer as many time slots as possible for you and your loved ones.
The visits will be 30 minutes long with 15 minutes between visits to allow for proper cleaning and transportation of residents. At this time we ask that you schedule your visit a minimum of 24 hours in advance and that you schedule a maximum of one visit per week. This is subject to change, but we want to make sure all of our residents have an opportunity to visit with their loved ones.
To make sure we are being as fair as possible for scheduling the first few weeks of visits we will be doing a random lottery. All resident names will be drawn to comprise a randomized list. Members of the TNDC team will then call down this list to ask if the resident representative or family member would like to schedule an appointment. Once every resident and/or their family has been asked for an initial visit, the visits will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. If visits would need to be canceled for any reason you would be notified by TNDC staff as soon as possible. We would also like to point out that window and virtual visits are still an option and will continue to be facilitated as they are now.
As stated above, our number one goal is to keep our residents safe and healthy. We want to reiterate that this has not changed. We have taken and will continue to take, every precaution necessary to do so, with guidance from the local public health, Wisconsin OHS, and the CDC. We are very excited to have outdoor visits available at this time, but we want to be clear that COVID-19 is an ever-changing situation and our ability to facilitate these visits may change.
Please review our policy and procedure and scheduling for outdoor visits.
We thank you again for your patience and understanding through this very difficult time. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at 715-232-2661.
