Celebrating Our Foodservice Team During Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week

Every day at The Neighbors of Dunn County, there is a team working behind the scenes to make sure residents have meals that are nourishing, enjoyable, familiar, and suited to their individual needs. They plan menus, prepare food, accommodate dietary requirements, serve meals, keep kitchens running smoothly, and pay attention to the many details that can make mealtime feel a little more like home.

Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week, recognized October 4-10, gives us an opportunity to celebrate those team members and the important role they play in our community. In a healthcare setting, foodservice is about much more than preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Good nutrition supports strength, healing, energy, and overall well-being, while a good meal can also provide comfort, choice, routine, conversation, and a sense of normalcy.
